Cowboys and Giants Set To Renew Their Rivalry..

The Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys at Metlife stadium at 1pm. As stated in the early game notes the the Cowboys own the series 63-45-2 but have dropped three out of the last four against the Giants.

We all know that the Giants have made a coaching change and the benching of Eli Manning has been a distraction but the Cowboys have lost three out of their last four without star running back Ezekiel Elliot who is still serving the six game suspension.

The big story for the Giants is the firing of Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese after the dreadful 2-10 start and the Eli Manning being reasserted into the starting the QB spot. Steve Spagnuolo takes over as the interim coach and will continue to call the defensive play calling.

“The biggest thing is I don’t want to disrupt the apple cart very much at all, so I’ll be doing that. Then, we’ll take it game-by-game, but that’s the – I enjoy that part of it if it’s going well. It’s another story when things don’t go well, but I don’t that to change too much. Mike (Sullivan) will do the offensive calling and obviously Tom Quinn will handle special teams.”” Said Spagnuolo at Friday’s media session.

Spagnuolo was also asked if the NFL coaching community  reached out to him congratulating about the opportunity. “Yeah. A lot of different coaches. Yeah. Now, they’re all busy, too. That’s the beauty of text messages. I’ve gotten a lot of those.”

Eli Manning is back in the line up and during the week the offensive line reintroduced himself to the future Hall of Fame Quarterback. Eli did mention how excited to be back starting against the Dallas Cowboys. “Well, I’m excited. Excited about the opportunity to play this week, get back on the field with teammates and go play against the Dallas Cowboys. I’ve played these guys a bunch and I look forward to going out there in our home stadium and trying to get a win.”

People felt Eli was happy about the dismissal of his former head coach. Eli explained he was not happy about the decision. ” I feel for Coach McAdoo, he’s been a great coach for me, a great friend. We had a great relationship, I hope we continue to have one. I was able to have a good talk with him Sunday before the game and then got to see him Monday before he left as well. So, I have great respect for Coach McAdoo and I don’t think this is his fault, but obviously, just where the team is, the Giants had to make a decision and that’s what happens when you’re 2-10.”

Geno Smith who played well against the Oakland Raiders was asked if he got a raw deal by not starting this week. ” I mean I think I had an opportunity to play. I respect the heck out of Coach (Ben) McAdoo. I think he did something maybe not a lot of people would have. He gave me an opportunity and I respect it, I appreciate it. As far as sympathy or something like that, I’m not looking for it. I don’t need any sympathy. I’m built for all of this. I’m built for everything that’s going to come my way and I know that all of these tests and these trials are preparing me for something greater. So I look at adversity as something that can be positive. I’m thankful for the adversity and I look forward to it”
