Written by Randy Zellea, February 19, 2012, Posted in Basketball, Interviews

Jason Kidd Looks Back!

In the 1994 NBA Draft, Dallas took a young point guard from California University by the name of Jason Kidd. Since entering the NBA, Kidd has become a difference maker on every team he's played for by being the coach on the court and redefining the point guard position.

Kidd has played in 10 All-Star games while on three different teams (Dallas, Phoenix, and New Jersey), as well as five NBA All First Team selections. While Kidd has dominated on the floor, he seems to draw attention to himself off the floor as well.

Randy Zellea of Back Sports Page recently spoke with Kidd about his storied NBA career as he opened up about some of his former teammates.

Josh Howard Hosts in Dallas!!

Tucked in the shadows of the Texas State Fair grounds, quietly standing firm as the concert next door blasts Zac Brown Band, in a gym the size of most NBA training rooms, NBA players got back to the only thing they truly ever wanted to do...

They played basketball.

The exact damage of the NBA lockout will never truly be known, but for one night in south Dallas, it could be seen.

Knicks Center Tyson Chandler Gives Back

Written by Paul Nisenson, January 13, 2012, Posted in Interviews, Foundation Spotlight

When the New York Knicks signed Tyson Chandler this past offseason, they knew they were getting a multi-dimensional talent. Despite criticism about paying top dollar for a veteran who has only averaged over 10 points per game twice in his career, Knicks General Manager Glen Grunwald knew that what Chandler could bring to the table—rebounding, shot-blocking and intangibles—would be what could separate the team from the pack to become legitimate championship contenders. What his former teammates and coaches know, and what Knicks fans will soon find out, is that his commitment to being a leader is also discernible off the court. It’s no surprise that Chandler’s contributions to the community are as well-rounded as his basketball skills.

Tom Chambers’ Journey Through The Wild West

Written by Peter Mundo, July 10, 2011, Posted in Interviews

When we think of Western Conference NBA basketball our mind is drawn to high scores and a fast-paced style of play.  That is the style former NBA All-Star Tom Chambers was built for.  Chambers grew up as a promising 6-foot-2-inch guard out of Colorado.  Then, in between sophomore and junior year of high school, Chambers grew seven inches.  All of the sudden, he had the ability to play the game as a guard, with good handling and shooting skills, but at the size of most NBA power forwards.  It was a unique combination that led him to a productive career at the University of Utah and later to the NBA.

Bucks Guard Tells All

With Iverson's floor presence, Shaq's wit, LeBron's confidence, Wade's humility, Magic's smile, and Nash's game, Brandon Jennings has fans screaming “Fear The Deer!” Except for Cleve and Toronto, no team in the Eastern Conference had as big a drop in victories this year than the Milwaukee Bucks.  Back Sports Page had exclusive access to Brandon Jennings during the second half of this season, as the “Young Buck” tried to carry his team to another playoff berth.  BSP first caught up with Jennings during All Star Weekend. Who says you can’t go home again? Before becoming an NBA rising star, Brandon Jennings built his basketball foundation on the Gardena, California pavement.

Looking Back with J-Kidd

Written by Jay Maguire, April 01, 2011, Posted in Interviews

Gary Payton once said you should call Jason Kidd "Ason Kidd" because he has no "J". For more than a decade, the scouting report said to ignore Kidd on the three-point arc. Let him fling away. Turn a passer into a shooter, as the NBA saying goes. Those days are long gone.  When it comes to three-pointers made in NBA history, Kidd is the third best.

Once again, Jason Kidd finds himself in the midst of a “championship or bust” playoff push. Back Sports Page sat down with the Maverick’s floor general to get a rare view through his eyes.
