NY Giants Michael Boley Gives Back On the Lanes!!

GIVING BACK WITH THE G-MEN!!

Early last month, Back Sports Page was honored to be in attendance at Michael Boley’s 2nd Annual Monday Night Bowling event.  Fresh off a big win in New England, a number of Giants players came out to support their teammate, hang with some fans and bowl some frames.  Lunar Sports Group hosted the event, which supported Intensive Theraputics, a non-profit organization that provides group and individual therapy to children with autism and hemiplegia.

The event holds a special meaning to the Giants linebacker as his son suffers with autism.  Watching his interactions, you could tell he had more of an investment than the typical fundraiser event.  A number of Giants players came out to support their teammate in his mission to raise money and awarness for this cause.  Brandon Jacobs, Hakeem Nicks, Sean Weatherspoon, Mathias Kiwanuka, Chris Canty, Jim Cordell and *Other Rookies* were all in attendance signing autographs, taking pictures and interacting with the numerous fans in attendance.  Children and adults alike were in awe that they had the opportunity to bowl with some of their favorite athletes.

The event was held at the AMF Lanes in Wallington, NJ which provided an amazing array of foods for the guests.  There was a separate section for a silent auction, allowing fans to take home some amazing souvenirs.  Signed helmets, game tickets, personalized photographs and a number of other goodies were up for grabs with all proceeds directly benefiting Intensive Theraputics.

The night turned out to be a complete success.  A number of fans were able to interact with the larger than life athletes.  Kids and adults alike became wide-eyed every time another player walked through, swarming them for autographs and pictures, and to each player’s credit, everything was signed and every picture was taken with a smile.  Seeing 6’6″ Mathias Kiwanuka bowling next to an 8 year old is a sight not many people get to see, but one that families will now remember forever.
