Return of the Williams Legacy

Venus and Serena Williams, both blessed with astounding tennis genes, are known around the world for building their tennis legacy. Venus, being one of the all-time greatest female players, has won endless Grand Slam finals with her sister by her side – as well as a few Olympic gold medals. Serena holds the most Grand Slam titles in singles and doubles, plus she has been ranked number one for one of the longest recorded periods of time.

To say the least, the Williams genes are certainly above average.

Unsurprisingly, in their recent return to the court after months of atrophy, the two have preserved their godly titles at the Top Seed Open. Serena Williams defeated Bernarda Pera after a few fumbles and reignited an old flame.

Serena was certainly relieved, especially with less preparation: “Even matches and practice matches I haven’t played. I’ve just been training.”

Venus also brought the heat and decimated Victoria Azarenka, bringing the two sisters to face once again. They last faced off in the 2018 US Open, with Serena reigning supreme over her older sister.

The event will certainly help to revive the excitement and anticipation of tennis. What could work better than bringing two legends, let alone sisters head-to-head?

Until then, one can only wonder: will Serena win again, or will Venus leave her in the dust?
