With the 2017 campaign over, The Giants as an organization as well as the players look towards their future. Here is some of the post game and clean out day reactions on what players and personal’s feelings are on returning.
-Interim Head Coach Steve Spagnuolo: “Dave (Gettleman) and I have been just kind of focusing on getting to this year-end meeting and that’s what we did. We knocked that out and, boom, I’m right here. So, I don’t have anything to report on that”
-Eli Manning: “I mean, this is what I want to do. I want to play quarterback for the New York Giants, that’s what I hope happens and obviously we’ll talk and figure out what’s the plan for the franchise going forward.”
-Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie: “Definitely. I think this is a classy organization. I love the guys in the locker room, the young guys. I made a lot of friends here and it will be sad to be gone. But at the end of the day, my main focus is just chilling.”
-Justin Pugh: “If I could build you the perfect equation and kind of factor in how much those mean to me – it all goes into it. I want to win. I want to win now. I’ve been in five years. I only made the playoffs one time. Being in a good situation, being close to home was great for me. Being so close to my family. Always having them around. So, all those things go into it. I’m looking forward to getting to it and it’s an exciting time. This is the first time I’ll ever get to choose where I play and the situation that I’m in. Obviously, I’ve grown up in New York. I want to be in New York. But, we’ll see what happens.”
-Ross Cockrell: “I’d love to be back here. I enjoy it here, my wife enjoys it here. So, you know what they say.”
-Orleans Darkwa: “We’ll see what happens. I love the fans here. Love the players. I’ve been here for a while and it’s definitely been fun, but I’m looking forward to the future and I’m not going to sit here and say I’m going to be back. I don’t know what the future holds, but definitely – I mean, that’s things to discuss with my agent.”
-Devon Kennard: “The Giants organization means a lot to me. They are the organization that drafted me. Mr. (John) Mara and Mr. (Steve) Tisch, all the way down. First class organization and I would love to be here, but it’s not ultimately up to me. I guess we’ll see how the offseason goes and hopefully you guys will be bugging me in March and April and stuff. “
-Brandon Marshall: “You know how it is, you get to the plus side of 30, a production slip, you get injured, the business side of it, history says that you’re going to get cut or they are going to ask you to take a pay cut. That’s the business side of it, that’s history. So I’m prepared for that, I’ve had a lot of change in my life, but one of the reasons why I came to this organization was for stability and also not to be an environment that we created this year, right? So I was looking for more stability, but I’m built for this and I’ll learn from it.”
