The WNBA has not disappointed this season. However, a few players may not return this season. Here are all the current injuries.
Sue Bird
Seattle Storm point guard Sue Bird has been sidelined due to bone bruise on left knee injury. Three time WNBA champion suffered the injury in last week’s Minnesota win. There is still not an official update on her return.
“It’s basically day-to-day.” Bird states, ”That’s where I’m at.”
Briann January
Connecticut Sun guard out for positive Covid-19 test. January should be able to return against the Dallas Wings.
Diana Taurasi
Phoenix Mercury guard suffered a muscle issue against the Seattle Storm. Diane Taurasi underwent an MRI that confirmed no structural damage. Taurasi’s return has still not been announced.
Stephanie Dolson
Chicago Sky has a questionable strained tendon.
Jantel Lavender
Jantel Lavender is out for the season. Chicago Sky forward will undergo foot surgery. The injury took place against the Las Vegas Aces.
Chennedy Carter
Atlanta Dream Chennedy Carter was on the fast track to Rookie of the Year. Breaking franchise records, as the top scoring from a rookie. Last Monday, Carter suffered an ankle injury against the Connecticut Suns. Carter was driving to the basket when she lost her footing with Brionna Jones. No worries, the MRI was negative for breakage. Carter will be back in the paint in two weeks.
