Last year, the Las Vegas Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers created some chaos. Of course, we’re talking about the last play of the game here. Among the chaos was a Hail Mary pass caught by the 49ers. It led to a cavalcade of fumbles, laterals, and the 49ers falling just short of winning the game.

Overall, it was a fitting chapter in the historic rivalry. Fans were left bewildered at what happened. A 24-24 tie on a Hail Mary? How could this have happened?

Well, it certainly wasn’t fairy dust and unicorns. Instead, it was another part of a crazy rivalry that dates back to the Bay Area. Fans will recall the various brawls going down at Candlestick Park, which showcased an all-out turf war between different parts of the Bay.

Will we see similar chaos on Saturday? Or will the bragging rights be more tame than in years prior? There are some storylines involved in this game.

What makes this chapter much more exciting for the Las Vegas Raiders

First, Raider fans could get a glimpse at what Brock Purdy can do. Last season wasn’t the most memorable for the 49ers quarterback. He threw for 3,864 passing yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. However, one can attribute that to a litany of injuries that plagued the roster. Additionally, he was missing Christian McCaffrey in his offense for most of the season.

Also, what will fans see from the positional battles? Will we see an encore performance from Isaiah Pola-Mao? Can Ashton Jeanty post positive yardage? Or will fans be concerned?

Additionally, how will the 49ers attack Pete Carroll’s defensive structure? The former Seahawks head coach is familiar with his old divisional foe, with Seattle boasting a 30-22 all-time record against the club. Part of that came from Carroll and his “Legion of Boom” defense.

Whatever the case, this storied rivalry will be another exciting chapter. Fans will talk trash like the old days and have bragging rights in a classic battle from the Bay Area. Just don’t beat each other up, please.
