As the New York Giants prepare to visit the Chicago Bears on Sunday, both teams enter the Week 10 matchup dealing with significant injury concerns and shifting personnel. For the Giants, stability on the offensive line remains elusive. For the Bears, the receiving corps takes another hit with rookie wideout Jahdae Walker ruled out with a concussion.
Injury Report Overview
The Giants’ final injury report on Friday confirmed that kicker Graham Gano (neck), center John Michael Schmitz Jr. (shin), defensive lineman Chauncey Golston (neck), wide receiver Beaux Collins (neck), and linebacker Darius Muasau (ankle) are all out for Sunday’s game. Additionally, cornerback Paulson Adebo (knee) is out, while tackle Jermaine Eluemunor (pec) and safety Jevón Holland (knee) are both questionable

With Gano sidelined, Head Coach Brian Daboll confirmed that Younghoe Koo will handle kicking duties in Chicago. “If Graham can’t go, we’ll go with Koo. It’s looking like that,” Daboll said Friday, adding that the veteran kicker continues to deal with a herniated disk in his neck. “We’ll see where he’s at after practice, but I would assume it’s going to be Koo.”
Daboll also noted that Greg Van Roten is a top option to step in at center if Schmitz is unavailable, though the staff has multiple players capable of taking snaps. Defensively, the absence of Golston and Muasau could impact the team’s ability to stop the run—a concern Daboll addressed directly. “Run defense involves all 11,” he said. “Whether we change fronts, tackling, run fits, those are all things that go into it. We work on it consistently, and we’ve had a good week this week.”
The Bears will be without several key contributors as well, including linebacker T.J. Edwards (hand/hamstring), defensive lineman Dominique Robinson (ankle), and defensive back Josh Blackwell (concussion). Running back D’Andre Swift (groin/personal) is listed as questionable, while top receiver DJ Moore (hip/groin) and rookie Rome Odunze (ankle/heel) both logged full participation by week’s end

Adding to that list, Jahdae Walker has now been officially ruled out due to a concussion sustained in practice. His absence leaves Chicago thin at wide receiver, especially with Moore and Odunze both managing lower-body issues during the week.
Daboll Addresses Pressure, Road Woes
Friday’s press conference also saw Daboll respond to questions about the Giants’ 10-game road losing streak and a report suggesting his job could be in jeopardy. “Not winning enough games—there are a lot of reports out there,” Daboll said. “You focus on the things you can control.”
When asked about the franchise’s struggles away from home, Daboll deflected the historical context and refocused his attention on the present challenge. “I’m focused on this week. We’ve got to do a good job against this team, and that’s what’s most important.”
Giants’ Key Storylines and Matchups
The matchup in Chicago will test the Giants’ resilience on both sides of the ball.
Jaxson Dart’s Historic Rookie Start
Since being named the starter in Week 4, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart has been exceptional—his 15 total offensive touchdowns are tied for third-most in the NFL, trailing only Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford. Dart is also the only rookie quarterback since 1950 to record multiple touchdowns in each of his first six career starts

Wan’Dale Robinson’s Emergence
Receiver Wan’Dale Robinson has quietly become Dart’s most reliable target. With 47 receptions for 540 yards and two touchdowns, Robinson ranks among the league’s best in third-down conversions (tied for 3rd) and explosive plays of 25+ yards (tied for 4th)

Game Outlook
The Bears’ offense ranks 4th in the NFL in total yardage (378.4 YPG) and 2nd in rushing (144.4 YPG), while the Giants rank 18th in offense (322.0 YPG) and 14th in rushing (117.9 YPG)

. However, both teams have defensive vulnerabilities—New York sits 29th in total defense (382.1 YPG allowed), with Chicago not far ahead at 26th (368.8 YPG).
With multiple starters sidelined and young contributors stepping into expanded roles, Sunday’s matchup could hinge on turnovers, red-zone execution, and special teams play—particularly with Koo making his Giants debut.
The Bears enter as one of the NFC’s most improved teams under quarterback Caleb Williams, while the Giants aim to end their road skid and keep their season from slipping further. As Daboll put it, “We’ve worked hard to improve. It hasn’t gotten done yet, but we’ve had a good week.”
