Tre Tucker has lofty expectations this upcoming season. Last season, he had 47 receptions, 539 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. Now, those numbers won’t stand out much, specifically if you’re slated to be the No. 2 receiver.

However, he’s slated to carry a heavier burden on his shoulders. The Cincinnati alum will line up alongside Jakobi Meyers in a revitalized Raiders offense. The goal? Shock the world and lead Las Vegas back to gridiron glory.

Obviously, that comes with a rookie running back and a stud tight end ready to take over the NFL universe. But that means the 24-year-old must step up offensively.

Consequently, let’s explore how he can do that. Which positive attributes does Tucker carry with him? What can he use to his advantage and beat opposing corners?

What makes Tre Tucker a special player

One thing that stands out with Tre Tucker is that he’s fast. Like, he ran a 4.29 in 2019 with the Bearcats. That’s a ridiculous amount of speed for a receiver, making him a match-up nightmare. It helps him create separation from opposing corners and get open more easily.

Luckily, he has that because he’s not the biggest wide receiver around. He stands at 5’8″ and weighs 182 lbs. That leaves him prone to being rocked like a Rock Em’ Sock Em’ robot. Nobody wants that, believe me.

Thus, that’s why he must stretch the field at every turn. That way, Tucker is not involved in one-on-one battles that he will lose. Fortunately, he’s great at getting the first step on his opponents, creating that separation. Put him in the slot and watch him take over the game.

Coincidentally, his short-range game is also good. He can catch passes on the run and generate plenty of yards after the catch. That gives Geno Smith another option to work with if he runs out of options. Who doesn’t love having options?

Tucker is ready to take over the game

Realistically, Tucker must leverage his speed since he isn’t winning one-on-one matchups. That means reading the defender and finding an open spot. Afterwards, he can create havoc downfield and use his agility and speed to his advantage.

Additionally, that means using that first step and agility to get one up on your opponents. You can’t let them win the one-on-one battles by having them stick with you. Therefore, you must outpace them at every turn.

Doing this leads to greater things for the 24-year-old, especially on an offense with heightened expectations. The Chiefs took some hits during the offseason and the Broncos and Chargers aren’t ready yet.

Coincidentally, a monster season from Tre Tucker means you’re leading the offense to greater things. Who knows? That could mean you get into the playoffs come January. Now that’s something, isn’t it?
