With the 2025 season close to drawing a curtain, it’s time to take a look back at the best city jerseys of the West. Specifically, this article will detail the best from the Western Conference. Overall, the Western Conference designs have been some of the better ones this year. For a couple of teams in the West, the City jersey may be a fifth in the rotation. Furthermore, a pair of Western Conference squads have a hardwood classic jersey in their mix this year.
So, what are the top City Jerseys from the Western Conference squads this year? Let’s take a look at the top five.
The Best City Jerseys: Best of the West
No. 5: Utah Jazz
Now, at number five on the list, is the Utah Jazz. Okay, the Jazz City Jersey is a nice uniform. But… it gets knocked down a couple of pegs, because it is essentially the same city jersey as the 2023-24 season, except the lettering is in white instead of black. However, it is still a nice blend of retro and modern elements. Thus, it nestles itself into the bottom of the top five. [All images courtesy of NBA.com.]
No. 4: Phoenix Suns
Fourth on the list is the Phoenix Suns. What’s to like about this jersey? Let’s see… it salutes the 1995 All-Star Game in Phoenix. The original font from the 70s and 80s teams. The Valley wordmark… meh. Maybe choking the neckline a bit. “The Valley”, or “El Valle”, whichever you may prefer. But it’s sharp.
No. 3: Houston Rockets
The third level of the best city jerseys on this list is the Houston Rockets. H-Town is the motto. The legacy left behind by Olajuwon and Drexler. The back-to-back championships in the mid-90s. What else needs to be said? It’s the perfect representation of Houston basketball history.
No. 2: Sacramento Kings
If there’s any team that can salute its Ohio roots, it’s the Sacramento Kings. Originally the Cincinnati Royals, the jersey brings back fond memories of the Queen City. The NBA.com article on the jersey says it best:
“This uniform is more than a tribute; it is a celebration of our enduring legacy as one of the oldest teams in the NBA and a recognition of the rich history that continues to shape their identity today.”
No. 1: Memphis Grizzlies
And finally, to round out the list, I have the Memphis Grizzlies. The red jerseys go hard for Memphis, a city known for its contributions to the culture of music. The word mark is based off of the original Memphis Sounds team of the mid-70s, while adding today colors of Beale Street Blue and Memphis Soul record gold. This one is the cream of the crop. No other questions.
That’s the list. There were a couple honorable mentions that just missed the cut, in the Minnesota Timberwolves and the New Orleans Pelicans.
These jerseys are authentically their cities. And it’s perfect for the NBA.
