Game 1: Oct. 23, 2024
Cleveland Cavaliers at Toronto Raptors
Final Score: CLE 136 – TOR 106
A slow start was quickly negated by a seemingly new brand of Cleveland Cavaliers basketball. Cleveland had experimented with high-tempo and perimeter-heavy offenses in the past but fully unlocked the potential of its scoring and shooting core as it passed and weaved across the half-court. The Cavs ended the night with 14 made 3-pointers on 30 tries, earning its highest 3-point percentage since losing the Charlotte Hornets to cap off last year’s regular season.

The trio of Mitchell, Garland, and Allen combined for 76 points as they dominated the interior. Allen had a perfect night from the floor, using his interior presence to score off hook shots, dunks, and layups. Mobley earned his first double-double of the season while adding four assists. Cleveland’s bench guards played a key scoring and shooting role, including a near-perfect 3 for 4 from the field from guard Caris LeVert.
