Bernie Kozar is revered as the best quarterback (or one of the best) in Cleveland Browns’ history. Yes, that’s a low bar to set, considering that Cleveland hasn’t had much success in the quarterback department. However, he’s etched his name in Cleveland sports history as being one of the best at his position.
One TNA wrestler is noticing his talents and has extended an invitation for him to attend TNA Rebellion. The invitation came on Thursday as Nic Nemeth challenged his mystery attacker at the pay-per-view. Will Kosar come to Nemeth’s aid and help a fellow Cleveland superstar?
That’s the big question as Rebellion nears. Let’s look at both possibilities and see why each could happen. After all, this is for Cleveland’s sake as the pay-per-view inches closer.
The case for (and against) Bernie Kosar helping Nic Nemeth out
Obviously, the feel-good story for Cleveland would be for Kosar to help out his fellow Clevelander. The story would build up morale for a city devastated by bad luck in the sports realm. Think about how over that would get Nemeth in Northern Ohio.
However, imagining the opposite would be far more dramatic. Think about it for a second. The established superstar gets betrayed by a sports legend and it makes the national news rounds. That would generate so much buzz for TNA that it would bring more eyeballs to the product.
Yes, it seems far less likely, considering that this would tarnish Kosar’s reputation with Cleveland sports a bit. Still, does that matter when everything revolves around shock value?
Regardless, Kosar being at Rebellion would be big for Cleveland… and Nemeth
Nic Nemeth has had a decorated pro wrestling career, dating back to his WWE days. The Kent State alum has won the World Heavyweight Championship twice, the NXT Championship once, and the Intercontinental Championship six times.
What better way to do that than to have Kosar play a significant role at the pay-per-view? The Kosar name carries plenty of weight in Cleveland, especially with the Browns’ past quarterback woes.
It brings plenty of buzz to TNA Rebellion and makes the event more newsworthy. Imagine what the local television stations are saying about the news item. Kosar working with Nemeth is an Ohioan’s dream come true (except in Cincinnati).
By the way, the mystery attacker was A.J. Francis.
