If you’re the Las Vegas Raiders, how do you build off a big Week 1 win over the New England Patriots? Why, you get a tougher test against the Los Angeles Chargers! But this isn’t any regular test. This is a new squad.

Armed with a solid offensive line and Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers look to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history. Additionally, they’re looking to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs atop the AFC West. Beating the defending AFC champions, 27-21, is a good start.

So, who wins this massive AFC West matchup? Will the Raiders continue building momentum en route to being relevant again? Or will the Chargers have a complete stranglehold on the division?

Previewing the Las Vegas Raiders and the Los Angeles Chargers

Jim Harbaugh is known for two things: Rough & tumble defenses and establishing the run. He believes in having a big offensive line to protect the quarterback so he can make plays. On top of that, it sets up holes for the running back to play downfield.

Therefore, Raiders fans should expect a heavy dose of Omarion Hampton. Last week, he had 15 carries for 48 rushing yards. Can he have a big game against Las Vegas or can the Raiders stop him?

Also, Justin Herbert. Obviously, he’s there and you must find a way to contain him. Last week, he went 25 for 34 for 318 passing yards and three touchdowns. Generate pressure on the Chargers and make Herbert uncomfortable. That’s how you fight in this game.

Who wins between Las Vegas and Los Angeles?

I’m going to be 100% honest with you. Last week’s victory over the Kansas City Chiefs was convincing for NFL fans like me. For all the love and adulation that Patrick Mahomes gets from the media, he was contained by the Chargers defensively.

I liked the Raiders’ win over New England last week. They played gritty and showed that they can take on potential playoff contenders. However, I’d like to see more in this game.

Therefore, I’m going with the Los Angeles Chargers to win, 27-17. It’s not a knock on the Raiders. It’s just that the Chargers have plenty of momentum themselves heading into this week.
