Don’t Act Cocky In Front of the Lakers

If there has been anything true about the Los Angeles Lakers this postseason, it’s not to boast in front of them during a loss.

We’ve all seen how the series ends up after the Lakers lose a game. A gentleman’s sweep.

Previous Rounds

It began in the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers when Damian Lillard began dancing to ‘Blow the Whistle’ following a made three. Lakers won in five. Next, playing against Houston Rockets, Russell Westbrook began speaking aggressively towards the Lakers’ crowd upon making a three pointer. The series would also end in five. Third, we have the Denver Nuggets. They would also fall victim in five games after Jamal Murray began dancing backwards following a made three.

Jimmy Butler & Tyler Herro

Now, here we are in The Finals. The same has occurred as all the previous rounds. Cockiness began to show out of the Miami Heat in the forms of Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler. With Herro “mean mugging” after making an and one lay up on Rajon Rondo. Jimmy Butler would say aloud “you’re (Lakers) in trouble” moments before winning game three.

In Butler’s defense, he says that Lebron was the first to start it.

All Eyes On Game 4

Following the defeat, LeBron James already had his sights on game four. Looking to get one step closer to the goal. Anthony Davis as well is focused on game four knowing that he must stay aggressive but stay out of foul trouble. Davis only scored 15 points in game three battling foul trouble the entire game.

In his game three post game interview, LeBron James praised the Heat saying, “Miami is never going to quit. No matter if we won tonight. I know how resilient that bunch is and how resilient that coaching staff is.” James also knows that the Lakers can play a lot better. Not turning ball over and keeping track of foul trouble. Understanding the opportunity they have if they go up three to one.

Look for the Lakers to take less threes this game and a lot more cutting to the basketball and off ball movement. James and the Lakers do not want this series to prolong and instead would like to end it as soon as possible.

The Miami Heat may be with their All Star Bam Adebayo, as he is now listed as questionable with a neck injury. If he is not good to go, the Heat would need another all time performance from Jimmy Butler. Keep in mind that Butler has played 45 out of the 48 minutes the past two games.
