The Giants continue to shape their roster by hitting the wavier wire on Sunday making some key additions. Also made Sunday were signings to the practice squad.
-The team announced eight signings to the team’s practice squad. The NFL allows a 10-man practice squad roster.
Notable signings were Chris Slayton, a seventh-round draft choice this year, and offensive lineman Evan Brown, who spent the entire 2018 season on the Giants’ active roster without playing in a game.
The remainder of the practice squad: running back Jon Hilliman, wide receiver Reggie White, Jr., tight end C.J. Conrad, defensive lineman Freedom Akinmoladun, and linebackers Jake Carlock and Josiah Tauaefa.
-The team also signed tight end Eric Tomlinson, who was waived by the Jets and created room on the roster by placing cornerback Sam Beal (hamstring) on injured reserve.
-Giants added wide receiver Cody Core, who was released by Cincinnati, and tackle Eric Smith, formerly with the Jets. To create room on the roster, the Giants waived wide receiver Alonzo Russell and tackle Brian Mihalik.
