After falling behind by 17 points in a scoreless first half, the Giants shut down the Bears while scoring 13 points in the final two quarters. They scored a touchdown on a 95-yard drive and after pulling to within four points, gave themselves a chance to win by forcing a missed 50-yard field goal attempt on Chicago’s final possession.

The Giants drove down to Bears’ 10 with four seconds left. Daniel Jones threw into the end zone for Golden Tate, who didn’t catch the ball and was called for offensive pass interference, ending the game in disbelief. The loss moves the Giants to 0-2.

The Giants trailed the Bears at halftime, 17-0 after a Daniel Jones had a nightmare of first half. Jones lost two key offensive weapons, fumbled and threw an interception.

Jones led the Giants back in the 2nd half to have an opportunity to win the game with the ball and seconds left on the clock trailing 17-13.

Big Blue came up short after an offensive pass interference penalty was called on the returning Golden Tate. Daniel Jones completed 25 of 40 passes for 241 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

The Giants defense held the Bears offense scoreless in the second half. This was the first time since 2004.

Sunday Would have been the first time Daniel Jones had all of his offensive weapons in the line up for him. Both Saquon and WR Sterling Shepard went down with injuries in the first half.

“Certainly a tough break there for us today, but I know those guys will battle and I think they’ll attack the challenge and we’re excited to support them,
and we’ll have guys step up” said Jones. “So whatever the situation is, we’ll attack it and respond as a team.”

There were lots of positives in the second half but this young Giants team continues to fight and learn together. That was the reasoning that the defense came together and were able to shut out a Bears offense.

“Our defense going out there and not giving up any points, our offense going out there and moving the ball down the field and taking advantage of situations” said Judge. I thought the two-minute drive at the end was very telling in the fight we had and at the end with the penalty, obviously that’s something we gotta clean up and we can’t shoot ourselves in the foot.”

During the post game news conference Joe Judge was asked about his team’s resolve especially losing two star players, turnovers, and down 17 points.

“We came out at halftime and said we’re going to find out a lot out about the team we are” said Judge “You’re down 17 nothing, what kind of team we’re going to have. It’s never about what happens to you. It’s about how you respond to it. I liked the way our guys responded. We’ve got the right guys. We’ve got the right kind of guys but we’ve gotta clean some things up. “

Giants Loose Barkley

The New York Football Giants suffered more than just a 17-13 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday Afternoon. The Giants might be missing their star running back Saquon Barkley, and wide receiver Sterling Shepard for a significant amount of time.

The third year running back had his sophomore season hampered with injuries and now will miss time for his third season as well. Giants Head Coach Joe Judge stated that he had no update on Saquon.

Multiple sources including ESPN are reporting that the injury is a torn ACL and might be a season ending.

“In terms of Saquon individually I don’t have a diagnosis on his knee” said Judge. He’s going to see some doctors tomorrow. We’ll wait and see what that is. Obviously we’re all praying for the best. I would just say this, regardless of whatever the outcome is going to be and what the doctors say tomorrow. I wouldn’t fall asleep on 26, it’s going to be a hell of a story either way.”

Barkley did not catch a pass, ending at 30 his Giants-record streak for the most consecutive games with a reception by a running back.
