Giants Cut Hillman; Signed Allen:

Jon Hilliman fumbled for the second time in many games, the New York Giants waived the rookie and signed veteran running back Javorius ‘Buck’ Allen.

Allen was part of a Friday workout that apparently also included C.J. Anderson and Akeem Hunt, per reports.

Giants Sign Tanny…Again:

Also part of the roster shuffle is the resigning of back up QB Alex Tanny. This is Tanny’s second season with the franchise and has been an inportant process in the growth of Daniel Jones.

“Alex has been a huge help for me” said Jones. “He’s obviously been in the NFL for a while and knows the game really well. He’s a super smart guy, someone I have a great relationship with and have leaned on to prepare and to get ready to play. With him and Eli (Manning) in there, I think we have a special room, a special group and I really appreciate all the help from those two guys.”

Golden Sees The Positives:

Markus Golden had a huge 42 yard touchdown off of a fumble recovery and noticed the improvements and progress front he defense. Though in his mind, a loss is still a loss.

“I am a win and loss guy, so I always go off of wins and losses. We lost the game, so I wasn’t as excited about that, but there was a lot of positives that came from it after watching film. We did a lot of flying around, working together, a lot of guys were doing their job. That part is exciting but at the end of the day, we want to try and get that win.”

Shurmur On Getting Healthy For Arizona:

“We’re 2-4 and we’re certainly going to welcome anyone back that can get healthy to play against Arizona” Shurmur stated. “Everybody talked about the players that were injured and weren’t able to be with us last night, so yeah, I’m looking forward to getting everybody back. It’s a good thing when you’ve got a lot of healthy scratches when you put your 46-man together, so we’re looking forward to that. I think we’ll get through this weekend, and we’re already started, but put all our effort into beating Arizona.”
