Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers

Final Score: WAS 87 – CLE 118

A balanced Cleveland attack saw seven Cavs score in double-digits, including guard Sam Merrill, who hit four of his nine tries from the 3-point line. Forward Evan Mobley, who is logging career highs in points and field goal attempts per game, tied with guard Donovan Mitchell at a team-leading 19 points. His proficiency with his back to the basket and, in continuation, led to five made shots in the paint. The Cavs’ free-flowing offense racked up 31 assists by the night’s end, marking the eighth time Cleveland’s high-octane offense logged 30 assists or more this season.

Game 2: Dec. 5, 2024

Denver Nuggets at Cleveland Cavaliers

Final Score: DEN 114 – CLE 126

The Cavs prevailed over the former NBA champions behind the efforts of its big duo and its star guard in Mitchell, for its 20th win of the season. Cleveland center Jarrett Allen finished the game with 15 rebounds, including four on the offensive end and six assists. He jumpstarted a handful of extra possessions with quick rebounds and passes to open teammates. Mobley, who is hitting a career-high 40% of his long-range shots this season, hit three of his five tries from the perimeter as he confidently set up and fired from the wings and the right wing. The duo of Mitchell and guard Darius Garland poured on 52 points in the home win, leaving the Cavs in a fantastic spot before a two-game Eastern Conference road trip.

Game 3: Dec. 7, 2024

Cleveland Cavaliers at Charlotte Hornets

Final Score: CLE 116 – CHA 102

Mobley took the spotlight in a key win on their two-win Southeastern Conference road trip. He earned a career-high 41 points as he tore through Charlotte’s interior defense, hitting a barrage of floaters, dunks, and quick layups. The former USC star continued to showcase his long-range ability with continuous heat checks from beyond the arc in the first quarter, leading to six made 3-pointers on eight tries. He swatted and tipped away three shots as he proved to be a focal point in Cleveland’s interior defense. Forward Dean Wade made his first start of the season since an early-November matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks. He disrupted and picked off three passes and earned three assists in just under 24 minutes of play.

Game 4: Dec. 8, 2024

Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat

Final Score: CLE 113 – MIA 122

Cleveland logged its first loss in five games as they fell to the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center. The Cavs couldn’t beat the heat brought on by guards Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson, who combined for 57 points and 60% from the 3-point line. A red-hot performance from center Bam Adebayo saw him end the game with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists. Not a single Cavalier ended the night with double-digit rebounds. Garland led the Cavs with 23 points as he cut past perimeter defenders for easy drives to the paint. Cleveland will move on to face the Wizards once more at home on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
