Giants Refuse To Waive The White Flag

The Giants are struggling through the second straight season and now have serious decisions to make about the future of the franchise. Dave Gettleman made the first step of a rebuild as they moved both Eli Apple and Damon Harrison this week for draft picks.

Pat Shurmer addressed the media yesterday and stated in a defiant terms that this team will continue to fight and compete after all the moves and struggles. “I think it’s about winning. We talk about that all the time, evaluating, but we’ve got to put guys on the field to try to win the game. We’ve been close in a lot of games, we’ve won one, and we’ve got to do a better job there. We’re making improvements. Unfortunately they haven’t shown up on the scoreboard yet. ”

This being said the signs all point to being a rebuild situation with the trades of to key defense players.  Players were not thrilled about the moves such as defensive captain Landon Collins who tweeted out that he was looking for to have Cheetos with “snacks.”

The trade deadline is on October 30th and more possible moves could be coming for Big Blue as names such as Vernon, Jenkins just to name a few could be finding new homes within a few weeks. There are a few questions on the offensive side of the ball with the moves.

Odell Beckham has been tossed around in trade talks but due to the large contract the chances of moving the blondheaded superstar is slim to none. beckham has had a public spat with the orginization on going for the laast few weeks.

Harrison who was moved yesterday signed with the team in 2016 by former GM Jerry Reese who was dimissed towards the end of the 2017 campaign. Harrsion is considered to be one of the premire rush blockers in the NFL had a large salary and the Giants decided to pull the trigger for the 30 year old star to have an opportunity to play on a competitive team while the Giants begin rebuilding through the Draft with another pick.

Running Back Saquon Barkley firmley believes that the Giants are taking the next man up route so the team could focus on football not who is in the locker next to you. “I do believe in that is next man up. Its the nature of our business. The Guys that we traded are good dudes and have helped me a lot in this process.”
