Jacksonville Jaguars Defensive/Special Teams Report Card

Defensive Line D

I didn’t think that there was a standout player in the middle of the defense for the Jags but I think this is an area of need for them in the offseason. Heading into the next season guys like Folorunso Fatukasi, DaVon Hamilton, Jeremiah Ledbetter, and Roy Robertson Harris are guys under contract.

Edge Rushers B

Is “sacksonville” back? I have a good feeling that it is back because Josh Allen has someone to compliment him on the edge in number 1 overall pick Travon Walker. Both Allen and Walker are guys to build this defense around in the future and also don’t sleep on K’Lavon Chaisson.

Linebackers B

Devin Lloyd, the teams 2nd round pick, has the potential to be one of the pillars in the revamped sacksonville defense. This group is young but has the potential to grow.

Defensive Backs B

Rayshawn Jenkins has emerged as a leader of this unit. This secondary has been clutch all season long and I think they can add more depth to the unit. I expect this unit to be addressed in free agency and in the draft.

Special Teams B

Riley Patterson has been a well trusted kicker and Logan Cooke has been a reliable punter. I expect this unit to remain the same in ’23.

Overall Grade B

I really think this Jags team can be complete. I think the offense will be the best in the league for years to come with Trevor Lawrence at QB. Doug Pederson has this offense going places but the defense is still young but can grow overtime.
