The Suns Are Rising

There seems to be no heat check in Phoenix, as the Suns are 3-0 since the NBA restart.

They have beaten the likes of the Los Angeles Clippers, Dallas Mavericks, and the Washington Wizards. The main contributors for the team have been Devin Booker, Deandre, Ayton, and Ricky Rubio.

Booker has led the team in scoring with 31 points per game. He’s had superstar efforts as he recently hit a buzzer beating shot over Kawhi Leonard and Paul George of the Clippers.

He’s doing his best to keep the Suns’ playoffs hopes alive as he has said he’s tired of losing and not playing when it really counts.

In addition, the consistent role playing from Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson, Dario Saric, and Cameron Payne have benefited the Suns on both ends of the floor.

These are key assets that Booker has needed. They complete a team and take all the pressure off of the stars.

Bridges, can guard the best guard or small forward on the opposing team with great success. He gives Booker a break to keep his energy up on the offensive end, where he’s needed the most. Bridges looks to keep his opponents in a passive state or in a low field goal percentage position.

Rubio can orchestrate the offense and influence Ayton on the post better than anyone else on the court. He makes Mikal a better three-point shooter and helps other position players space the floor better.

Saric is probably best sixth-man that Booker could have asked for as he contributes in rebounding, defense, passing, and scoring. He’s never a cold shooter from the field and if he’s outmatched in any facet versus his opponent then he moves to other parts of his game seamlessly. He’s as versatile as they come.

The Suns are one of the top teams in scoring as they have put up over 115 points per game throughout the restart.

It will be a battle of the undefeated as the Suns take on the Indiana Pacers next on August 6.
