Game 28: December 23, 2024

Toronto Raptors vs New York Knicks 

Final Score: NYK 139 – TOR 125

The New York Knicks secured their fourth straight victory with Monday night’s win over the Toronto Raptors. The Knicks have now improved their record to 19-10 following this victory, while Toronto, on the other hand, has fallen to 7-23. There are many things to be proud of for the Knicks in this win against their divisional rival. First and foremost, their shooting on the offensive side was right on point. The team shot close to 60%, which is impressive. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way once again. He had another monster night for the team. He set a season-high of 31 points, along with 10 rebounds and seven assists.

However, Towns wasn’t the only one who stepped up for the team in this win. OG Anunoby also delivered a monster game against his former team. He tallied 31 points, seven rebounds and four assists. To add to his performance, Anunoby drilled four three-pointers. Though he wasn’t the only Knicks player to make at least four three-pointers. Mikal Bridges and Cam Payne were the other players that had also made four three-pointers in this dominating win.

 

Game 29: December 25, 2024

San Antonio Spurs vs New York Knicks 

Final Score: NYK 117 – SAS 114

Knicks fans couldn’t have asked for a better present on Christmas Day than Wednesday afternoon’s victory over the San Antonio Spurs. This win marked the team’s fifth straight victory. This team is on a roll. While the game wasn’t easy and could’ve gone either way, ultimately, New York got the job done. With this win, New York has improved to 20-10, while San Antonio has fallen to 15-15. This game was mostly about two stars going head-to-head in a back-and-forth game. Leading the Knicks in this thrilling victory is Mikal Bridges. He stole the show with a career-high of 41 points. Really impressive.

Then you got Victor Wembanyama would take over the game for the Spurs. Making his Christmas Day debut, the star came out firing early but couldn’t find his rhythm from beyond the arc, missing the first four three-pointers. Though he did make an impact on other aspects of the game. In the first quarter, he managed to grab four rebounds along with two assists and two blocks. Despite his slow start, he finished the half with 24 points and 11 rebounds. He did not go into another offensive explosion into the fourth quarter and matched the record for most three-pointers made at Madison Square Garden on Christmas Day with six. Overall, he finished the afternoon with 42 points, 18 rebounds, and one block.

 

Game 30: December 27, 2024

New York Knicks at Orlando Magic 

Final Score: NYK 108 – ORL 85

The Knicks dominated the Orlando Magic on Friday night to earn their sixth straight victory. With this win, New York has improved to 21-10, while Orlando has fallen to 19-14. Additionally, the Knicks have also improved to 3-o against the Magic this season. New York had much to celebrate in this win. First and foremost, New York’s defense held Orlando’s offense to just 28.2% shooting while outscoring them 54-31 in the second half. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks to victory with 26 points and nine assists on Friday night. This marks the second time he has delivered an excellent performance against the young Orlando team.

 

Game 31: December 28, 2024

New York Knicks at Washington Wizards 

Final Score: NYK 136 – WSH 132

The Knicks defeated the Washington Wizards in an overtime thriller powered by a 55-point performance from Jalen Brunson. New York has now won seven straight games and is 11-2 in the month of December. On the other hand, Washington has continued to worsen as the season has progressed. They’re now 3-7 in the last 10 games and own the league’s second-worst record. Only the New Orleans Pelicans have by far the worst record with a 5-27 record. As for Jalen Brunson, he was unstoppable throughout the game, showcasing his scoring versatility with clutch shots and relentless drives to the basket. But he wasn’t the only Knicks player to have a good game. Karl-Anthony Towns also added a 30-point performance of his own. The two duos continue to prove that they’re the best in the league.
