With the New York Yankees’ home opener coming up next week, the organization decided to host a tasting event for the media and unveiled new food options at Yankee Stadium dining menu for the 2019 season.
This expanded menu will provide fans delicious ballpark food and beverages that weren’t part of last season. They are coming from Lobel’s, Mighty Quinn’s, BareBurger, City Winery, Big Mozz, etc. Senior Executive Chef Matthew Gibson said these new food options are meant to satisfy fans while watching their team compete at home.
“We have a top level team, a top level building, we want to make sure that the food is always constantly evolving and changing,” Gibson said. “Making sure that we are up to current culinary trends.”
Gibson also said his favorite food out of the menu is the Impossible 2.0 burger, which is a special burger. The staff spent the entire offseason going around and seeing what’s new from restaurants, take in what New Yorkers feel about adding these new food options to the menu. However, they know the Yankees being championship contenders elevates their level of urgency to provide fans with the best experience.
“We go into every season with the intend of them going all the way,” Gibson said. “We just want to make sure that this stuff is in current food trends and that it’s fun and inventive and ultimately delicious and attainable for all of our fans. Every year we go into it thinking and hoping that they go all the way and I think we have a great shot this year.”
