Zlatan’s Milan Falls Against Lukaku’s Inter

The Milan Derby

Zlatan’s Milan fell 3-0 against Lukaku’s Inter in the “Derby Della Madonnina”, also known as the Milan Derby. With Inter in first place at the table and Milan trailing them in second place, today’s game was crucial. With a stunning performance by Romelu Lukaku Inter was able to capture the three points needed to stay comfortably at the top of the Serie A.

Inter opened the score board early in the game with Lukaku assisting the young Argentinian, Lautaro Martinez, in the fifth minute. Later, in the 57th minute, Lautaro again capitalized on an assist from Erikssen to give his team a dominant advantage. But for Lukaku, a 2-0 victory was not enough. With an astonishing run past the Milan defense, and a great strike to the bottom right corner of the goalkeeper, Lukaku made it 3-0. He celebrated the goal with ferocity, yelling “I’m the best”, at the top of his lungs. And Making sure a statement was sent to all his critics.

New kings at the throne

For the past nine years Juventus has been completely dominating the Serie A. Winning nine consecutive titles. Now, with Pirlo as the manager, they find themselves struggling for points in 5th place. Consequently, giving a chance for other Italian teams to dispute the 2021 Serie A.

As Inter sits at the top as the new kings at the throne, it is a breath of fresh air for football fans. The Serie A used to be one of the most competitive leagues in Europe. But, for the past nine years, Juve’s domination had made the league boring and predictable (Except for Juve fans). Thankfully, the drama is back!

The new favorites

Inter are the new favorites to win the title, and with good reason. First, the depth they have with their roster. Second, their individual quality. And third, their great chemistry makes them an exciting team to watch. Yet the players are not the most important attribute of this Inter squad. It would be Antonio Conte, the manager, a tactician accustomed to winning titles everywhere he goes. For example, Having won three consecutive title’s with Juventus. And later, winning a league title and the FA Cup with Chelsea.

The race for the Scudetto

The race for the Scudetto is on! Roma (3rd place) will play Benevento (15th place). If Roma is able to win, they will be 3 points away from second place Milan. Next week Roma is set to play Milan, determining who will be challenging Inter for first place in the remaining Serie A season. Yet, with Such a close rece and 15 games remaining, the title is up for grabs.
