DWCS Week 3 Contract Winners

Another week, another slate of amazing fights inside the Apex Center. In case you missed this week three of DWCS, one of the best fights in the history of the Contender Series took place. With four fighters receiving contracts and one getting one at a later date, it was another great Tuesday night. Now, let’s check out this week’s contract winners.

Malcolm Wellmaker

There are times in the Contender Series when you know when someone belongs in the UFC. And Malcolm Wellmaker belongs in the UFC. The 30-year-old Bantamweight showed off his confidence and got an amazing knockout in the first round with a right hook. Now, 7-0 in his career, there isn’t a reason why he shouldn’t be in the UFC. Also, he should become a fan favorite in the future.

Marco Tulio

This was the second time Marco Tulio showed up on DWCS and got a second-round spinning back kick knockout. Now 12-1 in his career, with nine wins coming by finish, the Brazil prospect should be able to rise through the middleweight division. This was a solid signing by the UFC. I can’t wait until he gets his first fight.

Bogdan Grad

An Absolute War by Bogdan Grad and Michael Aswell made the case for why this show is amazing to watch. With over 500 strikes thrown in just 15 minutes, Grad and Aswell were both able to work from a distance and land strikes to the head and body. Even though some of the judge’s scorecards were all over the place, both fighters showed they could keep going even during a war. Grad and Aswell should be good, fun additions to the featherweight division.

Andrey Pulyaev

After the co-main event, there wasn’t too much hype left for this fight, but Andrey Pulyaev showed how good his fight IQ is. He was able to switch anytime when Liam Anderson was pressuring and land strikes to the body. From being the underdog in this fight and only being 26 years old. Andrey has a bright future in the sport and could be a problem.

Conclusion

While some of the judge’s scorecards were off, it was still a solid slate of fights. Even though one of the fights is already booked for a rematch on week ten, week three of DWCS was another for the books. Hopefully, with seven more weeks to go in this year’s series, there will be more contract winners like Bogdan Grad and Michael Aswell.
