DWCS Week 5 Contract Winners

Every week on DWCS is a surprise, from the biggest underdog win ever on the series to this week, when a fighter pulls minutes before his fight for no reason. However, week 5 of DWCS was still a solid night of fights, with three fights ending by finish and three fighters receiving contracts. Let’s get into who won a contract.

Nicolle Caliari

Even though Nicolle looked nervous in the opening minutes, she got the armbar submission from off her back. With an all-around game, the Brazil prospect had an impressive showing even when she didn’t look comfortable. With more depth being needed in the women’s Flyweight division. Nicolle Caliari should be an exciting fighter to watch in the future of the promotion.

Josias Musasa

This was an exciting signing by Dana White. With seven wins by knockout, six of those have come in the first round, this 25-year-old from the Congo got the upset win by decision. Even though many thought he’d lost. With a great chin and a great coach, Musasa has all the tools in his arsenal to be great in the UFC. Especially now that he can train in the USA after getting his contract.

Navajo Stirling

For the main event, the top prospect out of New Zealand was awarded a UFC contract for his vicious second-round knockout over Phillip Latu. At 6 feet 4 inches and only 26 years old, Stirling is an impressive light-heavyweight. He is a fantastic striker who now has four out of five wins by knockout. Stirling should have an immediate impact on a division that needs depth. Make sure you follow UFC news for when he gets his first fight.

Conclusion

Even though it is unfortunate that we couldn’t watch Quemuel Ottoni fight because he had the hype of beating Alex Pereira nine years ago. However, week 5 of the Contender Series was still solid. With three exciting prospects being signed into the UFC. Hopefully, we will see more exciting prospects in the remaining weeks of DWCS.
