Fanatics Fest 2026 officially kicked off Friday at the Javits Center, and if Day 1 was any indication, fans are in for an unforgettable weekend. From legendary athletes and celebrity appearances to million-dollar trading cards and unforgettable fan interactions, the opening day delivered nonstop excitement across the convention floor.
Tom Brady showcased his trademark accuracy during a Raising Cane’s activation, firing a perfect pass into a target that sent longtime teammate Rob Gronkowski crashing into a dunk tank filled with Raising Cane’s signature sauce.
NBA superstar LeBron James and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton brought their popular Mind the Game podcast to life, answering fan questions before James stepped off the stage to greet attendees and surprise a young collector by signing a trading card live in front of the crowd.
Disney, Champion, and the NFL unveiled their new NFL Collection during the inaugural Disney Fan Draft. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and broadcaster Taylor Rooks hosted the presentation, while Brady, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Gronkowski, and Olympic gold medalist Megan Keller helped make selections featuring iconic Disney characters paired with NFL teams.
One of the biggest ovations of the day came during The Roommates Show, where New York Knicks captain Jalen Brunson was greeted with deafening “MVP!” chants. Brunson joined teammate Josh Hart, who energized the audience by tossing Randy’s Donuts into the crowd. New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge also appeared, sharing a humorous story about Hart untying his shoe courtside during a Knicks game before both Judge and Brunson declared there was “no place better than New York.”
Elsewhere on the show floor, Daymond John and Brady thrilled collectors by handing out trading cards and launching signed Tom Brady footballs into the crowd at the CardVault booth.
Gronkowski continued entertaining fans by putting his signature spin on a gender reveal, delivering one of his famous Gronk Spikes to announce that a fan is expecting a baby girl.
Late-night host Seth Meyers embraced the hobby by spending time buying and trading cards, while Kevin Hart wasted little time after announcing new episodes of Cold as Balls are headed to Netflix, filming two episodes during the event with guests iShowSpeed and Gronkowski.
Soccer fans welcomed U.S. Men’s National Team veteran Tim Ream at the MLS booth, while NASCAR driver Carson Hocevar fresh off his breakthrough Talladega victory, raced fans in the NASCAR Experience’s iRacing simulator.
The collectibles market also produced major headlines. Investor Kevin “Mr. Wonderful” O’Leary purchased a one-of-one Shohei Ohtani Logoman Autograph card for more than $1 million at the Topps booth, while former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez generated excitement by pulling a Cooper Flagg Topps Chrome Basketball Rookie Autograph numbered to 75 at the CardVault by Tom Brady booth.
If opening day is any indication, Fanatics Fest 2026 is once again living up to its reputation as one of the biggest celebrations of sports, collectibles, and fan culture. With two more days remaining, attendees can expect even more surprise appearances, unforgettable moments, and one-of-a-kind experiences throughout the weekend.
