Game 23: December 9, 2024

New York Knicks at Toronto Raptors

Final Score: NYK 113 – TOR 108

Monday night’s win over the Toronto Raptors marked the New York Knicks‘ return to form. It also marked the return of OG Anunoby to Toronto for the first time since the blockbuster trade went down. He and former Knick RJ Barrett went wire to wire early in the quarter. Anunoby scored New York’s first five points of the game, while Barrett led the way with eight first-quarter points. There were also other things Anunoby did to seal victory for New York over his former team. With 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter in a one-possession game, he would come up with a huge block on Barrett. Anunoby finished the evening with 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field.

Game 24: December 11, 2024

Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks

Final Score: ATL 108 – NYK 100

Wednesday night’s heartbreaking loss to the Atlanta Hawks eliminated the Knicks from the NBA Cup Quarterfinals. If there’s a reason why Atlanta won this game, it’s Trae Young. He continues to embrace his role as the Knicks’ villain, contributing 22 points and 11 assists. While it wasn’t his best performance, he still made a significant impact. The Knicks’ loss, however, goes beyond Young’s contributions. Another key factor was their lack of energy in the second half. The team did not show good effort as the half got underway, allowing Atlanta to capitalize on their struggles and pull ahead for the rest of the game.

Game 25: December 15, 2024

New York Knicks at Orlando Magic

Final Score: NYK 100 – ORL 91

Following their loss to the Hawks on Wednesday, the Knicks had found a way to bounce back nicely on the road against the Orlando Magic.  Even though the score was close, it was enough to get the win for New York. As a result of their win, they have surpassed Orlando for the number three seed in the Eastern Conference standings. The Magic, on the other hand, was playing with a depleted roster. Stars like Gary Harris, Paolo Banchero, and Franz Wagner were all out due to injuries. Leading the way for New York in their latest win is both Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. Brunson had scored 31 points himself, while Towns added 22 points and 22 rebounds. New York will continue their three-game road on trip on Thursday as they travel to Minnesota. As for Orlando, their next six games will be at home.
