To say the R-Truth saga has been wild the past couple of weeks is a vast understatement. It left fans outraged, wanting the truth and nothing but the truth. You can’t just cut somebody for budgetary reasons, despite being beloved in the locker room, right?

Not only that, but he’s also massively over with the fans. How could you get rid of a guy who’s beloved by the wrestling community and expect fans to react positively?

Luckily, WWE brought him back. However, there’s a twist. He’s taken on a more serious tone, attacking John Cena non-stop. No longer is he R-Truth. He cut his dreads off and is now Ron Killings.

Why is Ron Killings significant?

The new “R-Truth” signifies a more aggressive approach. It resembles a man tired of being made the proverbial butt of all jokes. Now, fans must take him seriously and invest in his character.

No more “Lil’ Jimmy’s”.

No more “Tom and Nick Mysterio”.

You’re dealing with Ron Killings, who means business. That aggressive approach also comes with a mean streak that could cause a heel turn.

Now, hear me out. What would happen at Night of Champions in John Cena’s match against CM Punk? Cena tries everything in the book to retain the WWE Championship, including a low blow. Nothing works.

In comes Killings, who comes and… attacks Punk.

1, 2, 3. Cena retains. The crowd is shocked as their beloved figure is suddenly a heel.

That would be an incredible swerve that nobody saw coming

Obviously, Killings’ more aggressive approach is an indication that something is amiss. It might be too obvious given that he’s still over with the crowd.

However, that adds to the shock value. Nobody would suspect that a beloved figure like Killings would turn.

But what if it was just a setup from Cena himself? What if he got the returning WWE superstar to align with him and we didn’t know about it? There would be so many layers to this turn that people wouldn’t consider.

Plus, Cena’s reign gets prolonged and he gets his “farewell tour” with the title a bit longer. Besides, does Punk need the WWE Championship right now? It would make more sense to put the strap on him, should Cody Rhodes get a hold of the title.

WWE fans might not think much about Ron Killings turning at this moment.

“He’s too over with the fans!”

That might be true right now. However, crazier things have happened in the WWE landscape.
