TNA has been a place of goodwill and fortune for Indi Hartwell. She’s defeated noteworthy competitors such as Tessa Blanchard and even competed for the number one contendership for the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
That’s why it makes sense to keep her around a little longer. The TNA Knockout has a decorated history as a women’s competitor, winning the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. You want that type of pedigree within the promotion to elevate your women’s division.
But the possibilities are also a reason why re-signing the Australian wrestler makes sense. You can do much more with the NXT standout and build off the momentum. Here’s what could be in store for the superstar as she looks at an extended tenure.
What TNA can do with Indi Hartwell extended
First, there’s speculation of Bayley having a potential match with Hartwell at TNA Slammiversary. If you don’t already know, Bayley is one of the most prolific WWE superstars in the women’s division. We’re talking about winning the women’s Royal Rumble and countless world titles.
Therefore, it would make perfect sense to get a match going here. Bayley adds even more credibility to the card and brings more eyeballs to the product. Considering what TNA’s trying to do, it makes perfect sense.
You get a sweetheart deal with iHeartMedia and have a strategic partnership with WWE. What better way to take advantage of these than to jump on the Bayley bandwagon? This match would be the highlight of the card, especially with two noteworthy talents from WWE’s ranks (past or present). But getting her around for the long haul isn’t just about a dream match.
Hartwell needs a TNA Knockout Women’s Championship run
Let’s also be 100% transparent for a second. Someone like Hartwell deserves a good TNA Knockout Women’s Championship run. She’s done immaculate work across the board, whether it’s with TNA or NXT. What better way to do that than by usurping Lei Ying Lee or the next champion?
It could be now or it could be down the road. Whatever the case, giving her an extension without giving her the belt would be a waste. That’s especially true with TNA’s Knockout division becoming more refined by the day.
You can do so much by putting her in a top position, having high-profile feuds along the way. That includes Blanchard, who has had a history of incredible matches during her TNA tenure. If you’re keeping extraordinary talent around, it’s best to put them in positions to win.
