Aleister Black’s release by the WWE shocked many people. He was a terrific pro wrestler who was even feuding with Randy Orton, making him one of the most underrated performers. Additionally, the Dutch wrestler won the AEW World Trios Championship and has an NXT Championship under his belt.

With his extensive independent wrestling background, it’s easy to see why he’s such a hot commodity. He’s wrestled in other noteworthy promotions, including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, winning… the PWG World Tag Team Championship.

There seems to be a recurring theme here. Black thrives in the tag team scene, winning countless titles under the banner and in different promotions. What better way to get him going than to prop him into one of the most underrated wrestling divisions in the business?

But why is Black the ideal fit for TNA? Who would cozy up to the former WWE star and form the “perfect” alliance with him? Let’s dive into the possibilities and examine what could work with Black on his journey back into the wrestling fold.

Why Aleister Black being in TNA works on many levels

As mentioned, Black has spent plenty of time on the tag team side of things. He has thrived in various promotions in the scene, ranging from Insane Championship Wrestling to Pro Wrestling Holland. That alone makes him ideal for the tag team scene in TNA.

Of course, he can also function in the singles scene, as proven by his decorated history here. He’s won various championships on this front, ranging from the ICWA Heavyweight Championship to the Westside Xtreme Championship Unified World Wrestling Championship. However, the tag team focus is apparent.

Here, you have some good options to choose from. That includes The Hardyz and The System. While the quality is great, why not add more quantity to the mix and grow the promotion’s tag team side?

Who would go well with Black?

I know that I might catch some heat for proposing a TNA star predominantly on the singles side. But I can see Moose working here. Imagine a power dynamic between the smaller Aleister Black and the powerhouse working together to create chaos.

It could work wonders as both a face tag team and a heel tag team. You can use the cohesive unit in various elements, whether it’s with a feud with The System or with The Hardyz. Furthermore, it would create a good championship run, should they pursue the possibility.

Regardless, signing the Dutch wrestler would be great for business in TNA. It might seem like a longer shot than others, considering what’s out there. However, you can’t discount that the versatile Black would add plenty of value to TNA.
