Game 51: Feb. 5, 2025
San Antonio Spurs at Atlanta Hawks
Final Score: SAS 126 – ATL 125
The Hawks were involved in another tight game on Wednesday in their loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Both teams were deadlocked 123 apiece, but Victor Wembanyama put the Spurs in front with a putback dunk. On the next possession, Young knocked down a floater from the edge of the paint to re-tie the game with nine seconds left. San Antonio put its newly acquired star, De’Aaron Fox, and Wembanyama in a pick-and-roll to win the game. The Spurs big man drew a foul but purposefully missed the second free throw because Atlanta lost its final timeout challenging the foul. Young’s half-court heave off the rebound was offline, giving the Spurs the victory.
San Antonio built a 20-point lead in what looked to be a blowout in the first half, but the Hawks stormed back, winning the third frame 43-31. Young led the comeback attempt with 23 second-half points and finished with 32 and 12 assists. Onyeka Okongwu put up a career-high 30 points on 13-16 shooting and added 12 boards with five dimes. Hunter added a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Daniels totaled 19 points.
Fox impressed in his Spurs debut- 24 points and 13 dimes. Wembanyama finished with 24 points and 12 boards, while Devin Vassell had 20 points and four steals.
Game 52: Feb. 7, 2025
Milwaukee Bucks at Atlanta Hawks
Final Score: MIL 110 – ATL 115
The Hawks picked up a win after trade deadline day against the Milwaukee Bucks. Atlanta traded Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanović for Terance Mann, Georges Niang, and Caris LeVert on Feb. 6, but the new arrivals were not ready to play in this game. As a result, the Hawks needed multiple players to step up. Kyle Kuzma suited up for his Bucks debut, but Giannis Antetokounmpo missed this game due to injury.
The Hawks took a 12-point lead after the first quarter on the back of 7-14 shooting from beyond the arc. However, in the second quarter, Milwaukee did even more damage from deep to flip the score. The Bucks converted on their first 10 triples on a 33-11 run. They finished 11-15 from deep in the quarter, tying a franchise record for the most threes made in one frame. Atlanta’s offense struggled, turning the ball over six times and falling 55-73 at halftime.
In the second half, the Hawks’ defense took over. They held the Bucks to just 37 points across the final two quarters. Milwaukee scored four points in the last seven minutes of the third. Mouhamed Gueye recorded his first career double-double- 15 points, 12 boards, four blocks and two steals. Young tallied 24 points with seven assists, while Vít Krejčí added 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Daniels dished out a career-high 10 dimes with 15 points, and Okongwu grabbed 12 boards and scored 14 points.
Bobby Portis and Damian Lillard controlled most of the offense without Antetokounmpo. Portis finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds, and six dimes, while Lillard had 23 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. Gary Trent Jr. also scored 19 off the bench on 5-8 shooting from deep.

Atlanta Hawks at Washington Wizards
Final Score: ATL 125 – WSH 111
The Hawks started their three-game road trip with a win over the Washington Wizards. While it was a close game throughout the first half, Atlanta created the separation it needed in the third quarter. It began the frame on a 6-0 run to take a 72-62 lead, and then Niang caught fire from beyond the arc. He hit four straight threes, all assisted by Young, much to the delight of the Hawks’ bench. The visitors ran with this momentum to extend their lead to 19 after the third quarter. Atlanta won the frame 41-25 and shot 16-26 from the field.

However, the Wizards did not go out without a fight. They began the fourth quarter on a 15-4 run led by Jordan Poole and Bub Carrington to the Hawks’ lead to 12. Carrington knocked down a triple to bring his squad within single digits, but Krejčí responded with a three of his own. After this sequence, Atlanta’s lead never dipped below 10 points.
Young totaled 35 points and 14 assists on 13-26 shooting, while Risacher added 18 points. Niang drew the start at power forward and impressed in his Hawks’ debut with 16 points, six boards, and three steals.
Poole finished with 21 points but did not hit his first triple until the fourth quarter. Bilal Coulibaly had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Carrington scored 21 points in the second half after just two in the first.
